SmartOak® and the environment

Lowering the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is one of the most important things we can do to reduce the damage associated with climate change. 

SmartOAK® is made from low-grade eucalyptus logs produced during sustainable harvesting of regrowth forest in Tasmania. These logs are peeled, and the veneers dried and glued together, using state-of-the-art technology that maximises product recovery and uniformity whilst minimising environmental impacts.

The adhesives chosen for the manufacture of SmartOAK® are formulated to maximise bond strength and durability in service. Emissions of formaldehyde from the product are minimised and the product performs better than the E0 emission standard set for such products.
